4oz fresh basil
6 cloves garlic
1 small or ½ large lemon
1tbsp nutritional yeast
Extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt and pepper to taste
Pick the leaves from the basil stems, some small stems are ok but discard the large ones. Put all ingredients EXCEPT the olive oil and salt and pepper in a food processor. Turn machine on and through the top opening slowly add the olive oil until pesto reaches desired consistency(about 1/3-1/2 cup).
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Makes 10oz.
